We used Bill Hansen for catering. Then when COVID changed our plans, we needed a place for our wedding reception. We ended up having our reception at Villa Woodbine, which was amazing! The whole team at Bill Hansen is great! I cannot even begin to put into words how amazing Valentina was at Bill Hansen. She helped my dream wedding come true. From the 1st interaction, she was so timely in getting back to me, worked with my schedule, created a special menu for our reception and tailored it to what we wanted, recommended vendors, helped me choose vendors (DJ, florist, planner), and worked with me until the very last minute. I am telling you I was probably the most difficult bride with being in school and making a decision, but Valentina was patient and helped me so much. I recommend the Bill Hansen team 100000 times, you will not regret it. Every penny spent was worth it. Wedding Day: The staff was so welcoming and kind. Everyone was so nice. The waiters were SO nice and accommodating. The food was great. I had a guest text me a week after, asking me how she could get some of the food because it was so good (that's the kind of caterer you want to be part of your wedding). Bill Hansen catering and Villa Woodbine were phenomenal. They dealt with three event date changes due to COVID-19 and never made me feel like a burden. Their flexibility, professionalism, and patience were outstanding. Valentina, in particular, took care of every detail, kept everything organized, and went out of her way to make sure that I enjoyed every minute of our wedding day, including the food - which she specially set aside for me (since I'm vegan). The venue is the most beautiful place in all of Miami - a hidden gem. The food was delicious, all the guests were raving about it. Everything was excellent. ALL of our wedding guests could not stop talking about the food! I remember doing the tasting and being blown away, but their execution during our wedding was beautiful, professional, and most of all delicious and of the best quality. We had guests asking if our food was catered from a local restaurant because they wanted to order from them after the wedding. Money well spent! And can we talk about Villa Woodbine and the staff? The Villa is truly magical on its own and took the wind out of me as I arrived and saw the final product on my wedding day. How do you put perfection into words? We fell in love with Villa Woodbine the moment we drove up and set eyes on the balcony. The venue has a way of capturing not only your attention but your heart. In and of itself, it is an absolutely breathtaking venue but it also gives you a blank canvas. This canvas allows you to bring your vision to life. Not only is the venue incredible, but the Bill Hansen catering is phenomenal. It affords you a multitude of options and the food is to die for. Numerous guests commented on how it was some of the best food they have been served at a wedding. Most importantly, if you have the chance to work with Valentina, DO IT. She is the best of the best. I ended up getting married at Vizcaya during the pandemic after several postponements and I can honestly say I had a very smooth experience because of Sandra; she was there every step of the way and really helped with every unforeseen situation. Bill Hansen Catering was a pleasure to work with and we would definitely work with them again! We got married at Spur of the Moment Ranch in Homestead and this was their first time catering at that venue, but you never would have known it! Genevieve was so easy to work with and made sure every detail was taken care of. On the day of, cancellations were no issue and everyone LOVED their food - especially the sliced bistro steak! We had 105 people order the steak out of 120 and we had nothing but positive comments "The best food I have ever eaten at a wedding" and "This is the first time I have had wedding food that is actually still hot when it got to me" were some of my favorites. My fiancé and I were originally supposed to get married in June 2020 in Michigan but had to cancel because of COVID, we postponed our wedding and decided to do a destination wedding with our closest family and friends in Miami, Florida. My husband and I spent almost 2 years planning a destination wedding in Italy, but it was unfortunately cancelled 4 weeks before our big day because of Covid. We met with Genevieve at the venue (she is a rockstar, by the way) and planned our dream wedding in less than 3 months. They were able to see our vision and pair us with the most incredible vendors. Having our wedding at Villa Woodbine was a dream. Everything went flawlessly and was what we dreamed of and more. The venue is absolutely beautiful. With the lights, trees, and all of the decor it was so romantic and breathtaking. We had such a hard time deciding what to choose because everything we tasted was phenomenal. The service was great too. Our guests arrived early, and they began to serve welcome drinks right away while they waited. They also catered to us as the bride and groom. They brought us up platters of hors d’oeuvres to the bridal suite during cocktail hour, gave us an extra meal at the end of the night to take home, and even continued to make the welcome drink all night for me. I got married at Villa Woodbine on October 12th and it was a wedding beyond my dreams. A large part of this was due to Bill Hansen Catering & Event Production, with Eden Bauer-Foster as my event coordinator. They went above and beyond at every corner, making sure that the wedding went perfectly and beautifully, and it did. First, the food was absolutely delicious. I don't think there was a single guest that didn't mention this to me! Second, they made sure to make my random Pinterest-inspired dreams come to life, even if it meant chasing leads to find the smallest limes possible! And, if all that wasn't enough, they also provided a beautiful surprise on my wedding day for me and my husband AND our guests - our engagement photo superimposed onto our cocktail hour drinks! There is so much more but I have to stop writing at some point. Not only were the actual products provided amazing, but the service was above and beyond. The Perfect Miami Wedding. I met Ashley about 2 years ago through a friend. After speaking with Ashley, she noted that she works at Bill Hansen Catering (very prestigious in the South Florida area). Ashley offered to take the day to show me 4-5 venues that they work with and we fell in love with the Deering Estate. Throughout the entire process of deciding plated vs stations, coffee bar, open bar and the food choices, Ashley was 100% on top of everything! She responded instantly to my emails and texts and we actually became friends through this process. It was also a fun trip to go visit her at her office (Villa Woodbine) because it was so beautiful. Fast forward to November 2, 2019 - our guests RAVED about the food, how it was so plentiful and warm. They RAVED about the hors d'oeuvres and welcome Mojitos. The guests said the coffee from the international coffee cart was some of the best they've ever had. And the bartenders were so sweet and made amazing mixed drinks. We are still on cloud 9 reminiscing about our perfect day and how the entire team at Bill Hansen Catering along with our wedding planner, The Creatives Loft, made our dreams come true (and stress-free). Where do I even start? We recently got married at Villa Woodbine and Bill Hansen was our caterer. This whole process was absolutely amazing. From the day I met Ashley, our coordinator, throughout this whole process, she was just the sweetest. She was patient and answered all my questions, even if I had to ask multiple times lol. Leading up to the event she was always easy to get a hold of and always open and honest. We chose to do the Villa's summer deal that had been offered to us which made everything a lot easier on us since some of the vendors were included in this package (catering, florist, DJ, Tables, linens, outdoor AC tent). This made the planning process a lot more simple for me since I didn't have to go out and search for vendors. The day of the wedding everything went off without a hitch! As far as getting ready, we didn't choose to get ready in the bridal suite at the Villa (we were a lot of girls) we wouldn't have fit comfortably with all the makeup and hair artists too. Anthony was our coordinator from the venue the day of the actual wedding and Ashley stuck around and helped out for a bit too. Anthony was amazing, he made sure we had everything we needed and made sure to check in with us throughout the night to make sure we were doing fine. We actually got to eat the food at our wedding lol not just at the tasting and truly it was delicious! I am an extremely picky eater and always hate catered food, for months leading up to the event I had been saying how I just wasn't going to eat at my wedding and I'd just Uber McDonald's lol. So when I got the chance to try it at the tasting I was SO pleasantly surprised! It was actually delicious from start to finish! The AC tent was an absolute lifesaver (and was actually really cold!). It was Miami summer hot outside and everyone was extremely grateful for the tent. Although the dancing was outdoors, everyone was having too much fun to care about the heat at that point. Nothing but the best from Bill Hansen! We were very selective when choosing our caterer. We are foodies and we could not have anything less than perfect for our big day. BH was so flexible and accommodating to our wishes. Everything we wanted they were able to do. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the food. We had a tight dinner space so we could not do stations and we did not want to do your typical plated. We wanted family style. Bill Hansen is by far one of the best catering companies I have had the pleasure of tasting and working with. Their food is delicious and it showed through my guests' clean plates. We are very happy that we chose to work with Bill Hansen catering for our wedding. I always knew their food and service were great, but we still looked at other options to find the best price. At the end of the day, the difference in pricing was not by such a large amount. Their quality and professionalism is the reason I feel they are a 5-star company. We first heard about and got to experience Bill Hansen Catering last year at my sister’s wedding... all I ever thought about was their amazing hors-d’oeuvres. OHMYGOODNESS! They were absolutely delicious! Fast forward to my wedding in February, I knew I wanted to have their hors-d'oeuvres, mainly for me. I had first contacted them 8 months prior to our wedding day & when I told them where I was getting married, they couldn’t have chosen a more perfect event producer, Eden Bauer, as she also got married at the same venue (Estancia Culinaria, Redland, FL). She was super patient & worked with us to make sure we had exactly what we wanted & needed! God bless her, I had questions on questions but she made it sooo easy for me, I say me because I was internally stressing out!!! We had been studying their menu back & forth, day & night, to make sure we had the most amazing dinner menu for our guests & ourselves (we both are super foodies & loooooove to eat!) Once we chose our menu... the most fun part of our wedding planning finally came! THE FOOD TASTING!! Upon our arrival we were greeted by (& finally met) Eden & her event coordinator, Genevieve & they were absolutely wonderful in person. The hospitality that was given to us was like no other. Their venue itself was soo beautiful! We also met our chef, Chef Mary, who was sooo sweet! All the food tastings that were brought out completely BLEW OUR MINDS!!! Way better than I remembered! (We highly recommend the Blue Crab Tostones, Seared Tuna Won Ton Crisp Cup, & Brie Tartlets for hors-d'oeuvres) I cannot stop thinking about those!! We had chosen to do 3 dinner stations rather than the typical sit-down dinner, we wanted variety & options for our guests & let me tell you, I couldn’t wait for them to eat what we had selected. Everything was divine! We had also surprised our guests with a late-night STREET FOOD station & my guests couldn’t believe there was more food. I dream about the short rib Philly cheesesteak. Now for our wedding day, our event supervisor Anthony, could not have been any more amazing & attentive to us & our needs, he made sure we had our plate of food, a full glass & always came to check if we needed anything. I never thought I would have been able to have the wedding of my dreams w a BOMB ASS TEAM!!! I can’t thank Bill Hansen Catering enough! Oh my goodness, how do I even begin raving about this team? As a whole they're incredible. Sandra walked me through the process from day one. She was helpful, informative, realistic, and reliable. She helped make my dream vision COME TO LIFE! Sandra helped me pick all my vendors and then handled them for you - caterer, florals, coordinator, furniture rentals, decorations...she did it all! I opted not to have a wedding planner which I was nervous about, but my day of coordinator Jessica and her team were like my little fairy godmothers. These wonderful ladies made sure everything went as planned, let me call the shots when I wanted to, and put out fires when I didn't need to be involved. They were friendly and actually seemed like they cared about my happiness. It is so obvious that this whole team cares about the work that they do. They want you to have a beautiful wedding just as much as you do, which I think is rare in this industry when you go from signing one check to the next! I honestly felt like they were invited guests, not my vendor team and I mean that in the best way - they were just so nice to be around I didn't want them to leave. 🙂 The venue itself does have some restrictions due to noise ordinances, but the ladies will help you figure it out! 10/10 recommend. MY WHOLE BRIDAL PARTY LOVES YOU GUYS. Simply put, you know you picked the right team when your already married bridesmaids are telling you how lucky you are to have had such a stress-free experience, that to me -- is priceless. We were lucky enough to be referred to the Villa Woodbine by a consultant when I was trying on wedding dresses one afternoon. We hadn’t chosen a wedding venue yet, and when I explained what I was looking for to my dress consultant, she insisted that we had to check out the venue. She had gone to weddings there before, and if she could “redo her wedding, it would be there!” We are so grateful that we took her advice, and ultimately chose the Villa Woodbine and Bill Hansen Catering for our wedding! Doing long distance was hard enough—now doing distance while engaged, trying to plan our wedding, and attending school and trying to find a psych internship across the country… we were stressed. Sandra jumped in as more than just our venue coordinator. Sure, she took care of EVERY wedding detail for us—found us great music, florals, day-of coordinator, etc., but she became a good friend! She cheered for us when I was finally able to move out to Florida, and I have never seen our little pup love going to visit someone more! The venue is dreamy and romantic—go with the bistro lighting, it’s beautiful. The food is absolutely delish and unique—our guests are still raving about it. Choosing to have my wedding at Villa Woodbine was hands down one of the best decisions I have ever made. After visiting numerous wedding venues, I eventually stumbled upon Villa Woodbine and instantly knew that this was the place I wanted to get married. With 220 people attending our wedding my biggest concern was making sure everyone was served at the same time and that the food be hot. From the help they provided in helping us select a venue, to countless calls and emails in the months leading up to the wedding... they were more than I could have asked for. As for the food... I’ve never been to a wedding where I couldn’t stop raving about ALL of the food.. maybe the apps are good, or the cake, or the meat or fish... but never everything. Well for my wedding, I can truly say Bill Hansen went above and beyond. I still have guests calling and telling me how outstanding everything was. Bill Hansen exceeded our expectations. We felt they were very professional and attentive. Our food tasting was amazing as they greeted us with champagne and made it very personal. Ashley was our event producer and she was extremely helpful and transparent which was much appreciated, especially when your taste in weddings exceeds your budget. We hired Bill Hansen for our outdoor wedding at Estancia Culinaria in December, and I can’t rave enough about their food and level of service. The food on our wedding day was perfectly cooked and delicious. My husband and I were very pleased with how all the food turned out, and our guests were too. And while their food was absolutely delicious, I think that Bill Hansen’s level of service and attention to detail is what really makes them stand out. We were afraid that we wouldn’t be able to eat on our actual wedding day because we’ve had so many friends tell us they weren’t able to on their wedding days. But the BHC team made sure we were nice and fed throughout the night. Any time an hor d'oeuvres came out, they came directly to us to make sure we were able to get some food in the midst of mingling with our guests (I really needed to have some of the Nicaraguan Chicken pastelitos!!), which we greatly appreciated. Later that evening it took us a while to get back to our table and have our dinner. As soon as we sat down one of the members of the BHC team came over to ask if wanted a fresh plate of food since ours had been sitting out for a while. Within a few seconds, we had a fresh, warm plate at our table. It doesn’t get any better than that, does it? We were just so impressed with their level of service and attentiveness throughout the entire evening. In addition to catering our event, Bill Hansen handled all of our rentals (tables, chairs, linens, tents, dance floor, generator, etc.) for the wedding. Eden Bauer did an excellent job coordinating our event, making sure that everything was in order. She was also incredibly responsive whenever we had any questions regarding rentals or any miscellaneous things that came up. She really made us feel comfortable and taken care of, which is what you need in the midst of all the wedding planning chaos. Thank you soo much, Eden! We used Bill Hansen Catering as the exclusive caterer for our venue (Villa Woodbine). Eden was extremely professional and personable in helping us plan our wedding all the way from DC. She offered lots of helpful suggestions and assisted us with booking vendors (i.e. DJ, lighting, etc.). She listened to what we wanted and made an effort to make our special day perfect. Throughout the entire process (i.e. Initial meeting, tastings, day of, etc.), all the staff at Villa Woodbine went above and beyond. As foodies, one thing my now husband and I were particular about was the quality of food. Having been to several weddings, we knew firsthand how wedding food could be notoriously bad. Since we were paying so much out of pocket, we definitely wanted to make sure the food was good. Bill Hansen did not disappoint. We found it important to surround ourselves with vendors that would be supportive, calming, would listen, and of course be talented; they were all of those things! Amanda helped us with every step of the way. The team was always readily available and quick to reply to questions and set up meetings. They listened to exactly what we wanted in terms of food, decor, music and overall feel and gave us an experience that was even greater than what we could have imagined. Amanda helped us in choosing florists, musicians and even gave bridal shop recommendations that fit the look we were going for. She set up a tasting that was accurate to what was presented the day of. The food was.... incredible. All of our guests raved about how delicious the appetizers were, the entrees and our cake was heavenly. We paid for a day of planning, and Christina and Maria were wonderful. Best wedding food ever!! Wedding food is usually mediocre, but this had my guests (& myself) wanting more. First of all, the food tasting was elegant and made me so excited for my wedding day. We ordered the beef and the branzino, with the risotto as a vegetarian option. These were accompanied by potatoes and carrots, very elegantly executed. There were other interesting options but my boring palate chose the above. The appetizer plates were also outstanding: ceviche, maduro wrapped in bacon, chicken flat bread, tostones with crab, and arancinis. Finally, we upgraded the menu with a welcome drink for all the guests to have as they arrive. Amanda created a special, delicious drink for me, based on seasonal fruits. Bill Hansen truly made my wedding unforgettable. I worked with Amanda and Lia, both of who were available through email and phone, with quick responses. They also provided the linens, chairs, and tables, all of which were great quality. The polyester basic linens were included in the price, nicer linens were available for an added fee. Let me begin by saying, Kay Rivas from Bill Hansen Catering/Villa Woodbine is a wedding guru/goddess. From the beginning, Kay was so involved in every detail of our wedding from how our tables should be arranged to what color of straws we should use in our specialty cocktail. We were planning our wedding in Miami from New York City, which could have proved to be extremely stressful. With the help of Kay, we were calm throughout the entire process. She was responsive, patient, calm, creative, resourceful, and an excellent decision maker. If I ever had a worry, she found a solution. I was worried that dancing outside in the courtyard of Villa Woodbine would be too hot and unbearable for our May wedding, and she found us an excellent outdoor cooling system that was extremely affordable. My father and I have severe food allergies, and she made sure was had a nut-free wedding and that I had wheat-free bread, which was delicious. No detail was forgotten. The food from Bill Hansen Catering was absolutely excellent at our wedding, but what I found so exceptional was the level of service and care that I received.Christina A.
We worked with Kay Revas at Hansen to plan and cater our daughter's rehearsal dinner by the beach. Despite the worst possible storm, Hansen's staff managed to move the people, bar and food inside to our condo party room and kept the event going. We worked with Amanda at Bill Hansen Catering for our wedding at Vizcaya. I don't think there could have been a nicer wedding, ever, anywhere! Typically steak at a wedding is mediocre at best. Not with Bill Hansen. It was as good as any 5-star steakhouse restaurant steak. And the rest of the food -- all of the appetizers at cocktail hour, all of the desserts, all of the late-night snacks -- just as amazing. We relied on Amanda for a lot of the lighting issues, decor, and table setting ideas, and she really did a wonderful job for us. My only issue with them is the wine options -- I ended up purchasing my own wine and champagne -- and they were fine with this. All in all, I highly, highly recommend Bill Hansen.Robert W.

My wedding reception was held at Villa Woodbine in Coconut Grove on 2/22/14. Villa Woodbine is owned by Bill Hansen Catering and rented out for weddings, parties, etc. and is absolutely beautiful! It is a Spanish-style villa nestled away off of South Bayshore Drive in the Grove. The Villa is really a one-of-a-kind wedding venue gem with such an intimate, cozy feel and absolutely beautiful landscaping. Now, onto the staff…I cannot say enough kind words about Amanda, Sandra, and Christine…they are such awesome girls! Amanda was my initial contact and helped me throughout with any little or big questions that I had about my big day. Sandra and Christine were my day-of coordinators and were spectacular! The 3 of them were so very helpful, so much so that I did not have a wedding planner at all. I did all the planning myself with the help of these 3 girls and my reception turned out absolutely amazing! My bridal party was so shocked at how organized these 3 girls made my reception, from the cocktail hour to the introduction to making sure the entire bridal party ate and always had a drink of some sort in hand. They had thought of every little detail to ensure the organization of the reception and did such a great job. In addition, the staff throughout the event was so professional and courteous. As for the food, I cannot explain how delicious all of the food was. From the hors d’oeuvre to the dinner, the food was outstanding. My guests could not believe that it was wedding food. They were all shocked at how delicious the food was and raved about it even after the wedding. In final, our reception was absolutely phenomenal. From the absolutely gorgeous Villa to the food, to the professional and courteous staff, I cannot describe how impressed and happy my husband and I were with Bill Hansen Catering and Villa Woodbine for our wedding reception. Bill Hansen Catering was amazing! Their staff were so fantastic. Everything from the set-up to the service was perfect! With the 3 hour traffic jam the guests got caught in going from the Church to the Club, not a single one has mentioned it when I talk to them. The first thing they mention is what a great time they had and what a wonderful party the night was. I truly think that it was so easy to forget the hours spent in traffic because Bill Hansen's staff and servers made the guests feel immediately relaxed and welcome upon their arrival. Every guest I have spoken to so far has mentioned that when they came to the reception they immediately had someone offering them food and drinks. I think if we had been anywhere else, pushing everything back an hour to accommodate the traffic might have been a stressful fiasco. Instead, Bill's staff made it so easy and their organization and calmness helped keep me calm too! I loved the fact that there was a server who made sure that the bride and groom had appetizers. He even made a joke to a friend that his plate was for me, which I just loved. Without that attention to detail, I doubt I would have eaten a single hors-d'oeuvre all night! My husband loved the fact that a server would bring him a drink when he noticed his glass getting low, without him even having to ask! We had a food station sort of set up. You would think that with a traffic jam and having to push the food back an hour, the food might have been cold or poorly prepared, but that was not the case. The food was delicious and hot. I know some people do not like buffets or anything like them because the food always seems to suffer, Bill's food stations are the exact opposite! Bill was also our liquor vendor, which is great considering he has his own liquor license. We had the premium open bar, and it was much less expensive than other open bars I looked at. Bill Hansen Catering even took into account allergies. My aunt is really allergic to peppers. They took note of it and made her food separately, without any peppers. They also gave me and my husband a to-go box of food that they stowed away in our getaway car! They really paid attention to every detail!Anonymous
